The Tsum Valley Trek, nestled in the remote Manaslu region of Nepal, offers an immersive experience into a lesser-explored area characterized by its stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage. As a restricted area, it requires a special permit from the Nepalese government to access. This trek traverses through regions predominantly inhabited by Tibetan Buddhists, presenting a unique opportunity to explore their distinctive art, culture, and religious practices. Opened to tourism in 2008, the trek provides an authentic and pristine experience, surrounded by the majestic Himalayas and lush forests.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 02: Explore Kathmandu Valley’s World Heritage Sites and prepare for the trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Machhakhola (935m), which takes approximately 9-10 hours. Overnight at a mountain lodge.
Day 04: Trek from Machhakhola to Jagat (1345m), a journey of around 7-8 hours. Overnight at a mountain lodge.
Day 05: Continue from Jagat to Lokpa (2300m), walking for about 5-6 hours. Overnight at a mountain lodge.
Day 06: Trek from Lokpa to Chhumling (2415m), taking around 5-6 hours. Overnight at a mountain lodge.
Day 07: Hike from Chhumling to Chekamparo (3055m), a trek of about 5-6 hours. Overnight at a mountain lodge.
Day 08: Trek from Chekamparo to Nile (3365m), which takes approximately 4-5 hours. Overnight at a mountain lodge.
Day 09: Explore MuGompa (3725m) with a hike from Nile, including time to explore the area. Overnight in Nile.
Day 10: Return trek from Nile to Chhumling or Lokpa (2400/2300m), which takes around 7-8 hours. Overnight at a mountain lodge.
Day 11: Trek from Chhumling or Lokpa to Jagat (1345m), approximately 6-7 hours of walking. Overnight at a mountain lodge.
Day 12: Hike from Jagat back to Machhakhola (935m), taking about 6-7 hours. Overnight at a mountain lodge.
Day 13: Drive from Machhakhola back to Kathmandu (1340m), a journey of around 8-9 hours. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 14: Free day in Kathmandu for shopping and leisure.
Day 15: Final departure for home.
