We were a group of 9 trekkers from Switzerland who took part in the “Pach Pokhari” trek with Thile Sherpa. The 11-day trek in tents in a very remote area of Sindupalchok was very well organised and led by Thile. We were accompanied by a porter and a kitchen team of about 25 people from Thile’s village. The kitchen team prepared a varied meal every day.
However, due to bad weather (snow and storm) we had to turn back at an altitude of 4000 metres. Thile and his sirdars mastered this difficult situation and made the right decisions to ensure a safe trek to the end.
It was a unique and wonderful experience for us to travel with Thile Sherpa and his people for 11 days. But the sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley was also very impressive.
This has made me plan another trek with Thile Sherpa in 2025, this time in western Nepal as a tea house trek.
