The 20-day Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is an adventurous journey through the stunning landscapes of the Dhaulagiri range in Nepal. This trek combines breathtaking views, rich cultural experiences, and the thrill of high-altitude trekking, making it an unforgettable adventure for experienced trekkers.
This trek features two high passes, French Col and Dhampus Pass, both exceeding 5,000 meters. Known for its difficulty, the Dhaulagiri trek requires careful preparation and an understanding of the logistics involved to ensure a successful and safe experience.
The route leads through remote areas in central Nepal, starting in picturesque villages and offering stunning views of the Dhaulagiri range. After reaching the Italian Base Camp, trekkers navigate through the Chonbarden Gorge to Dhaulagiri Base Camp. The trek includes a two-night stay in Hidden Valley, where adventurers can explore the region or opt to climb Dhampus Peak (6,060 meters), which requires mountaineering experience and an additional climbing permit.

This trek combines the thrill of high-altitude hiking with cultural immersion, offering trekkers an unforgettable experience in one of Nepal’s most challenging and beautiful regions.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Arrival at Kathmandu Airport
  • Transfer to hotel by our staff

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

  • Breakfast and sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley (world heritage sites)
  • Trek preparation
  • Overnight at hotel

Day 3: Drive to Beni

  • Drive from Kathmandu to Beni (850 meters) – 9/10 hours
  • Overnight at lodge

Day 4: Drive to Darbang and Trek to Dharapani

  • Drive from Beni to Darbang (2 hours)
  • Trek to Dharapani (1,550 meters) – 5/6 hours
  • Overnight at mountain lodge

 

Day 5: Trek to Muri

  • Trek from Dharapani to Muri (1,850 meters) – 6/7 hours
  • Overnight at mountain lodge

Day 6: Trek to Bagar

  • Trek from Muri to Bagar (2,100 meters) – 7/8 hours
  • Overnight at mountain lodge

Day 7: Trek to Dovan

  • Trek from Bagar to Dovan (2,600 meters) – 6/7 hours
  • Overnight at mountain lodge

Day 8: Trek to Italian Base Camp

  • Trek from Dovan to Italian Base Camp (3,600 meters) – 7/8 hours

Day 9: Acclimatization Day

Day 10: Trek to Japanese Base Camp

Day 18: Drive or Fly to Kathmandu

Day 19: Free Day in Kathmandu
